These are Year 2 pupils - not Year 6

Year 6 are now sitting for their UPSR, an exam based on six years of study in primary school.Well, maybe it's a little too late to be giving tips on exam and after all I think most pupils have been well-groomed for the big moment.My only advise for them is to pray and do their very best in their exam.Do not get too excited or over confident. Get plenty of rest and enough sleep. Get all the good nutrition and take food which are good for the brain.All the BEST from me and GOOD LUCK!!!

Berita Baik - Rayuan Ke IPTA

KUALA LUMPUR: Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi menerima sebanyak 30,414 permohonan rayuan untuk kemasukan pelajar ke institusi pengajian tinggi awam (IPTA) bagi Program Pengajian Lepasan Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM)/Setaraf (Ijazah Pertama) Sesi Akademik 2011/2012.

Daripada jumlah itu, sebanyak 16,159 atau 53.13 peratus permohonan rayuan diterima daripada calon memiliki kelayakan diploma atau setaraf, 12,183 atau 40.06 peratus (STPM), 1,057 atau 3.48 peratus (matrikulasi/asasi) dan 1,015 atau 3.34 peratus (Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia/STAM).

Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi (JPT), Prof Datuk Dr Rujhan Mustafa, berkata Mesyuarat Pemilihan Bersama Rayuan akan diadakan mulai Isnin depan sehingga 15 September ini.

Beliau berkata, keputusan permohonan rayuan itu akan diumumkan pada 17 September ini mulai jam 12 tengah hari melalui url upu.mohe.gov.my yang mana calon boleh mencetak surat tawaran menerusi laman web IPTA berkaitan dan mereka yang berjaya dijadual mendaftar di universiti mulai 19 September ini.

KSSR Year 2

Guess what?  Starting today till this coming Friday, I'm attending KSSR English course for Year 2. The teacher who's supposed to be present for the course couldn't make it. Actually I'm not an English teacher so I have to  pay my full attention during the course as I've to give in-house training when I return to school. There are lots of new things to learn like ENT, EMK,TMK,4M and so on.

Haven't posted anything for the past few days. Yesterday I went for a workshop to make a draft on 'Pelan Tindakan LINUS Tegar Tahun 2'. Well,as a matter of fact, I do not have any Year 2 LINUS tegar pupils but  I still made the draft as it's part of the workshop requirement. Who knows, maybe next year I'll have to teach 'LINUS tegar' .

I bought these small fence a few days ago-RM10 per set. They are made by  prison inmates.They also make furniture and other handy craft such as baskets,etc. Hm..I plan to decorate my class using the fence...Ah, the flower pots-I bought them from a supermarket .Gonna plant some indoor plants...Can't wait to see the results...

TPM janji usul kenaikan gred guru akan diselesaikan

BALING: Keluhan kira-kira 400,000 guru yang mendakwa tercicir daripada kenaikan gred atau pangkat bermula 1 Januari tahun depan seperti diumumkan Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Isnin lalu, sememangnya dalam perhatian Kementerian Pelajaran untuk diselesaikan.

Bagaimanapun, Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin meminta mereka bersabar kerana beliau akan membincangkan perkara itu dengan Perdana Menteri dan Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA).

 My proud pupil is grinning from ear to ear as he shows off his marks for "Ujian Penentuan' which he richly deserves.This test consists of 3 units and thus could not be carried out in a single lesson.

Last week,  I bought a few BM and Maths exercise books and a rubber stamp.The books are for my children to do their homework. I only managed to find 1 rubber stamp at a nearby mini market.Need it to stamp in the ex. books every time they pass up their homework.If they collect a lot of 'stamps',  they can redeem them with gifts such as pencils, erasers or sharpeners.

Old and New 'Suku Kata' Cards

The cards in the colander on the left are worn and faded through constant use.I made them using manila cards and written with marker pens.Very simple and easy to make.Syllable cards such as these are suitable for teaching Bahasa Melayu but not English.

I'm now at the final stage of doing the 'suku kata V dan KV' cards. The actual size is 4.5cm x 6cm.Firstly, I typed the syllables. Next, I cut and then pasted them on coloured papers-5 different colours  to differentiate the 5 vowels (vokal) - 'a' (green), 'e' (orange), 'i' (pink), 'o' (peach),'u' (blue). After that I laminate the cards so that they can last longer but the snag with using laminating film is its sharp edges. To overcome this problem I 'celotape' the sides- which is what I'm doing now.The cards in the pink colander are ready to be used.

Old Files

Discarded old files that I took from my home. Wrapped them using gift wrappers and they were almost as good as new.Have been using them in my remedial class for a few years but now I decided to change them with new ones as these are not the same height and size.
